Voci Erranti is a non for profit organisation whose projects involve theatre for inmates in Italian prisons (specifically in the Cuneo area in the Piedmont region); they also organize professional courses for inmates with a focus on creating real job opportunities when they finish their prison time. They also offer general community theatre sessions for people of all ages. For this reason, they have a wide array of ongoing projects and activities. Moreover, Voci Erranti also is head of a small community cooperative with its Headquarters at the Caffè Intervallo (Savigliano, Piedmont, IT), which is one of the places where inmates have a chance to keep up with the professional skills they acquired during the courses while in prison (pastry-making, gardening, restaurant service etc.).
Caffè Intervallo also sells, in-prison baked cookies carrying their own brand and name: Biscotti Galeotti (galeotto means con, but in this case is more like a joe term, like scoundrel).
My visual design job involved online marketing and social media managing in a way that could offer at the same time a clear overview of their multi-faceted community projects and a focus on the uniqueness of each of their activities, while also keeping visual cohesion with their brand identity.

The challenge in this role was creating cross-media content that could reflect the values of the organization while keeping a visual coherence by using their brand identity style while use a compelling story-telling approach for all their projects. Initially,I decided to study their social media feed and website to understand how I could improve it. With this objective in mind, I identified three main themes that I could then sort into specific and recognizable visual formats for the social media posting. This approach led me to find simple and efficient visual strategies to tell stories about the bursting variety of the association’s activities while also stay true to their brand identity. I used a limited colour palette inspired to their logo and decided on some fixed formats depending on the project. This approach was kept also after I left the job.

The images you see on this page have appeared
on Voci Erranti’s social pages, website and monthly newsletter and have been adapted to fit each media context. My role included especially social media post/stories creation and organization, using content from events, photos or interviews about the organization.
